We have all been distracted by recent events, not just the COVID-19 pandemic and the challenges that it has presented, but the protests about inequality and the treatment of minorities. It's not my place to tell people how to act, but I am making a polite request of everyone to think about our actions and the effect that they can have on other people. Two of the things that have made our country great is the ability to overcome obstacles and challenges, and the opportunity to learn from other cultures and make our "melting pot" society a stronger one. Let's not lose focus of those points.
On to business...We won't be having a face to face meeting in June and July, but we are working hard to bring you valuable content to make our members more professional, and better able to serve their clients. In June we will be bringing you some of the finer points of Social Security and Medicare as presented by one of our own members, Warren Coble. Warren worked for the SSA for over 25 years and has some great stories to tell. These "lessons" will be presented via print and will be sent directly to our members to their email inbox.
We will shoot for our first virtual meeting for July. As we work out the logistics, we're not sure if we can do a live meeting, or have a pre-recorded video that can be accessed through our website. Stay tuned, and know that we are working hard to make your membership in NAHU a valuable one!
