For some of us, this time of year represents the most challenging part of growing and maintaining our business. In addition to the Medicare open enrollment, the ACA open enrollment overlaps it for a little over a month. It can be overwhelming keeping organized and keeping in touch with our clients to make sure that we have them in the best place possible for 2021.
As my desktop grows with notes, files, and memos, I have to remind myself to "breathe deep" and just keep plugging away, making sure that I accomplish several things everyday. For example, when I know that I have 20-25 phone calls to make for the day, I break it down into hours, meaning that I just have to make 3-4 calls per hour. It seems much more manageable that way, and I tend to get it done.
It's a good lesson for our lives. We all can get overwhelmed by life and sometimes have more items "on our plate" than we should. Breathe deep, make a list, and start plugging away and soon all of those little victories will give us a sense of accomplishment and help us relax and be more effective going forward.
