Margaret Mead said “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, concerned citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has”.
When I read this, I automatically think of our industry; specifically, those who have joined forces with NCAHU/NAHU. Are we a “small” group? Relatively speaking, I think so, especially when I think of all the people who are in this industry compared to those who are members of “our” association.
As a member of NCAHU, we are focusing on Advocacy, Professional Development and Communication. All of these contribute to us learning more of what our clients need to know in our always changing industry. We are the ones that are making a difference and hopefully, eventually can help make the needed changes to our healthcare system.
We need more voices! The new NAHU Agency Dues Model is a great way to include those producers in your agency who sell employee benefits, individual health insurance, Medicare or other health-related products, as well as account managers and compliance professionals who are on staff and work with clients. Membership enhances our ability to advocate before state and federal decision-makers on the issues that impact our clients and our businesses.
Yes, we are the concerned citizens that can change the world! I would ask that you talk to those colleagues that have not yet joined and remind them of what we do and who we are doing it for! We are stronger together!!
