If you were asked to get involved with your local NCAHU chapter, would you consider it??? Maybe is means asking a colleague to join you at local chapter meeting or attend the state Symposium. Maybe you heard a great speaker at your Rotary or Kiwanis club that might be a good fit for a chapter meeting. Maybe you have a topic that you could speak on!! Do you like working on websites? Are you someone that could write an article for the local newspaper on a legislative issue that is pending? Use your talents to help others!!
There are so many opportunities to get involved that doesn’t (necessarily) mean becoming President of your chapter, that we could all benefit from! Believe me, you will get so much more out of the experience than the time you put in to it!!!
I know, we’re all busy. But, if you sit back and think about all that this industry has provided you, are a few hours a week or month really that much? You will be ahead of everyone else in knowing what’s happening – locally and nationally! And besides that, it really is a lot of fun!! When I talk to people about NCAHU or NAHU, I always say – “We are a very social, fun loving, family of insurance professionals who are making a difference in the health insurance industry!” That’s not a bad group to be affiliated with!!
So, if you have an interest in websites, social media, legislative activities or want to see a particular course to advance your professional development – please let me know!! Want to lend a hand? I’ll be happy to take it!!!
Give this article a hand everybody (pun intended). Thanks for leading the way!
