Over the past two years, many of us have worked closely with Andrew Kaiser on implementing a new vision for NCAHU. The simple truth is that change was badly needed in order to keep our association relevant and purposeful for our members. I like to jokingly call these changes, "Andrew's Legacy." There is a smile on my face when I say it to him, but the fact is that no one in the association has worked harder or cared more for the outcome of our new initiatives. It was a privilege to have served under Andrew. Not only was he an outstanding mentor but also a great friend. Thank you, Andrew, for all that you have done to better us all!
July 1st marked the first day of my presidency of NCAHU. My goal is to live up to the standard that Andrew set while serving the role. My pledge is that we will keep his legacy alive and continue moving forward to implement positive change and greater value for our members and sponsors. I am confident that our fantastic new NCAHU Executive Board will do a great job. Those members include: President-Elect, Chris Ross; Vice President, Carol Matznick; Secretary/Treasurer, Michelle Wilson-Reynolds; Immediate Past-President, Andrew Kaiser; and Past-President's Council, David Smith. Thank you to all of them for their commitment to the Board. I look forward to serving with them this year!
These past several months have been difficult for everyone as Covid-19 has dominated our lives and necessitated many sacrifices. It has hit NCAHU very hard as well. We are doing the best we can to pivot into a virtual world, but virtual events just don't produce the same outcome. Therefore, we really need to be thankful for our Champion's Circle sponsors: BCBSNC (MVP), United Healthcare (Bronze) and Aetna (Bronze). Without their financial support we would be in a very tough spot this year. As you have interactions with these carriers, please do not hesitate to thank them. It would make quite an impact if all of our members showed appreciation simply by acknowledging the support they have given.
We plan to have a strategic planning/training meeting in August when we will be discussing new initiatives to implement throughout the year, set goals for ourselves and work towards implementing guidelines to achieve those goals. Some topics that I am confident we will be discussing are the development of a virtual chapter, strengthening our partnership with IIANC, developing relationships with other associations, and increasing our political advocacy footprint. Please remember, we are an association that is led by volunteers from within the association. We are always looking for feedback and input from our membership. If you have ideas on initiatives that you would like us to work on, we would love to hear them.
On the mornings of August 4 and August 11 we are hosting a two-part virtual Medicare Summit that will be featuring some of the best speakers in the industry. It will be high level training on topics that are necessary for all agents working in this segment. The cost is only $25 for both days and will include a voucher for 3 hours of CE on Medicare related ethics! Seats are limited to the first 100, so please do not miss your opportunity to register. Keep an eye on your inbox as email invitations are on their way!
More to come next month. I hope you all have a happy and safe summer season.
Best,
Dan Odorizzi

Thank you Dan for the kind words. I was supported by a strong board and you are a big part of our success these past years. Take us to new heights my friend. I know you will. Dan for President 2020!
