Why are you a member of NCAHU? If you are struggling with why then its time to reach out to a NCAHU Board Member or Local Chapter Leader because NCAHU is paying dividends for others and we want the same for you!
If you know someone in the benefits industry that is not a member, I hope you will find my message below inspiring and pick up the phone or send an email that leads to your sponsorship of a new member!
If you are a current NCAHU member you should already know the peace of mind you get from being a NAHU and NCAHU member in times like ACA and COVID-19. I still recall the multiple BOR's I picked up just by being well informed about ACA thanks to my membership in NCAHU. I also know that NCAHU's legislative efforts helped create the opportunity for self-funding to smaller employer groups in NC which created another opportunity for me to be of value to employers and earn their business.
If you are not reaching out to your clients about COVID-19 and the CARES ACT your competitor just might be, and your client is questioning why they didn't hear from you first. Then they are questioning what you have done for them lately off renewal to earn all that commission you make each month.
Why am I a member within the organization?
1. Professional Development provides me with the skills I need to be a subject matter expert
2. Advocacy at the State and Federal opportunities gives me peace of mind knowing I have a voice in legislation that impacts my professional career and the employers and insurance plan members I represent
3. Compliance Updates allow me to be a better risk manager for my clients and win BOR's from others that are just reacting at renewal time.
4. Events like State Symposium, Capitol Conference, National Convention, Medicare Summit have allowed me to build new partner relationships and uncover solutions and technology that allow me to drive down health care utilization, stabilize my client's bottom line all while improving the quality and cost of the members health insurance
Why am I a volunteer within the organization?
Because many of my peers that I look up to in this industry and who have helped paved the way to my professional successes have all given of their time and expertise. Without succession there is no civilization and without organization there is no voice.
Please share your comments about why you are a member of NAHU and NCAHU. If you are a member and can't recall he last time you took advantage of your membership I would like to know also.
If you are at a place in your profession where you are enjoying success, I bet others helped shape you too. Consider giving that same opportunity to someone else getting started in this industry by volunteering in your local, state or national chapter!
Would you like to earn $200? If you answered yes then get to work on being the NCAHU sponsor of the most number of new NAHU members between April 1 and June 30th.
