On January 19th, we conducted a virtual Medicare Town Hall meeting to discuss the most recent open enrollment. This was an opportunity for our Medicare professionals to voice both positive and constructive feedback about the various insurance companies’ products and services.
This meeting was not intended to be a “complaint session” to voice anger and/or frustration, but to point out what went well and offer suggestions for making it better. To the credit of our participants, we were able to do just that!
We made notes from the session and included input from people who were not able to attend. I shared those notes with the executives of the respective insurance companies so that they can learn from our input.
Again, the purpose was to make constructive comments that would help insurance companies improve their products and services. Within 12 hours of submitting our comments to the various insurance company execs, we received a response from each one thanking us for our input, and letting us know that these suggestions will help shape what they do in the coming year.
This type of communication is vital to the success of everyone. The professional way in which we handled this also gives us some leverage. We have some of the finest Medicare agents in NC working hard to do the right thing for our clients. When we plan the annual Medicare Summit or we need a speaker for a local chapter meeting, the insurance companies respond and want to contribute toward our goals and objectives.
Stay tuned for upcoming Medicare events and be sure to participate in them!!
