Our board met on Thursday the 27th for a strategic planning session at the City Club of Wilmington and we agreed to continue our usual fourth Thursday of the month meeting in September. We are planning for our September meeting to be a membership drive and have M. Hughes Waren, Jr. RHU to update us all on legislative issues. The City Club indicated that they will be able to accommodate nearly 18 people during these COVID-19 times. Our members continue to emphasize that the networking opportunities continue with our local meetings and they would prefer these lunches over a ZOOM meeting. We are reaching out to local hospital administrators and medical professionals for upcoming meetings and may use the ZOOM approach once we get into the Annual Enrollment season. đ
We did discuss receipt of a thank you letter from the Cape Fear Clinic for our donation to help them purchase painting supplies for their lobby. We offered to help paint but they said they had that already covered. The Cape Fear Clinic, Inc. a 501 © non-profit corporation, founded in 1991 as Tileston Health Clinic, Inc. provides healthcare to those in Southeastern North Carolina who would otherwise be unable to access care. CFC is able to provide necessary services to their patients-including primary medical care, specialty care, mental health, and pharmacy for less than $50.00 per month per patient. We plan to continue supporting this charity as well as others in the future.
