We are teeming with excitement in the Charlotte Chapter for what lies ahead in 2020!
CAHU closed out the year with a holiday social at Reid's in South Park. It was so nice to see so many new faces welcomed by members who have been part of this chapter for years. The fun and fellowship was capped off by our annual charitable check presentation to The Spokes Group. CAHU is proud to continue the tradition of helping children in our community stay healthy and active through our partnership with The Spokes Group. Since its inception, The Spokes Group has donated over 49,000 bikes to children in communities across the Carolinas - many of them right here in Charlotte.
We are very proud of our local L&L chairperson, Meredith Tidwell. Her action and involvement at the state level is to be commended. Her work on the legislative committee is a prime example of one of the best aspects of membership - involvement! There were many hands involved in the recent wins we have experienced at the state level, but Meredith's experience is a testament to the work that can be accomplished when all of the local chapters partner with our state resources. It is then that we see real results.
The Charlotte Chapter is hosting Joe Stewart, Lobbyist & Political Strategist at the IIANC, as a guest speaker for our February meeting Wednesday, February 12. NAHU is making major headway at the state and federal level and this is one area that the Charlotte Chapter wants to highlight. I believe that one of the greatest values in NAHU membership is the legislative action opportunities afforded to us. Mr. Stewart will be speaking to the Charlotte membership about recent successes, current hurdles, and future plans for the state of healthcare and health insurance in North Carolina.
We are very busy in Charlotte with a full calendar of events this spring. Please consider joining us at one of these events if you have not connected with our chapter recently. If you have connected with us, please extend an invitation to a guest and help us continue the fight to save the future of our industry!
